Ahh, Spring! It’s that magical time of year when we finally break out of hibernation mode and go outside to enjoy the sunshine. Here is a simple guide to clean out your makeup bag, replace outdated products and help you put your best face forward!

Wash your brushes!

Taking care of your beauty tools should be done year-round, but Spring is an especially awesome time to give your brushes a deep clean; including tossing some oldies and replacing them with new goodies! This brush set is has all the brushes you need!!
Technically speaking, you should be washing your brushes every 1-2 weeks depending on product buildup. We love using Beauty Blender Cleanser Solid  to wash our brushes because it literally removes ALL product and leaves them feeling like new!
Simply wet your brush, swirl in the cleanser, remove any product build up with your fingers and rinse clean. Also, make sure to lay your brushes flat to dry so the water doesn’t loosen the hairs and your brush can last through the seasons.

Exfoliate your lips and try a new lip colour!

Use a lip exfoliator to gently exfoliate and condition your lips. Get your pout perfectly smooth and hydrated before applying your new lipstick shade!

Long Lasting Lips!

Want your Spring lip shade to last? Go for a bright colour and try Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. We love it for the easy application and awesome colour selection.

Plus, it really does last for hours, even with the longer days!

Overhaul your makeup bag!

Your mascara should really be replaced every three to six months. After a few months of use, liquid beauty products can start to form bacteria and preservatives begin breaking down. Spring is the perfect time to try a new mascara and show off your flirty lashes!

Also, consider switching heavier foundations for something lighter like a tinted moisturizer or a mineral powder. Smashbox has a fantastic BB cream that is light and fresh, with great coverage and SPF 35! Can be worn alone or layered under Smashbox Halo Perfecting Powder for a spring-time glow.
